Waitlist Letters
This year more students were waitlisted than in recent memory.
Colleges admit students from the waitlist only if they have seats to fill in their freshman class as a result of admitted students electing to attend college elsewhere.
Waitlist acceptances begin in May and continue through the summer, sometimes even until just before the school year starts.
At some colleges, not one student comes off the waitlist.
At others, anywhere from 1 student to a few hundred will be invited.
Waitlist letters demonstrate that a particular school is the student’s first choice. I guide you to write letters very specifically about how you will add value to the college and why the school is an excellent fit.
Sending important updates on accomplishments and GPA improvement communicates you will likely accept an admission offer from the waitlist.
