Proofreading websites, brochures, manuals, and books
Proofreading is related to editing but differs in that by the time a proofreader receives a manuscript, all content will have been revised and reorganized (the work I do as an editor).
It is the final stage of checking a text before it is published.
Proofreading uses a distinct thought process, focusing on details related to writing inconsistencies and grammatical errors such as punctuation, apostrophe use, spelling, typographical, capitalization, pronouns, and dangling modifiers.
